This is UT’s first ever trip to Ole Miss.  And they won’t stay in Oxford.  The Horns will fly into Memphis and then fly out of Tupelo.  It is the first road game of the year for Texas and Mason Walters says to “be ready for something to go wrong.”

Mack Brown says Archie Manning and some UT booster helped put this game on the schedule.  Ole Miss is slated to visit Austin next year.

Bo Wallace is the Ole Miss quarterback and Mack Brown compares him to Vince Young, running the zone read.  Wallace is the juco transfer who was rumored to be signing with Texas after last season, but instead he would up with the Rebels.

The Ole Miss coach, Hugh Freeze, is a former high school coach.  He was the high school coach of Michael Oher, famous for the movie “The Blind Side”.

Mack Brown’s special teams have blocked 56 kicks since 2002.

The Horns are 2-0, with one game that was filled with rushing and another filled with good passing stats.  Mack says “it’s about winning, not about the stats.”

Defensive back Adrian Phillips looks at this as “a big game”, and is ready to “hit ‘em in the mouth”.

Jackson Jeffcoat and the UT defense didn’t let New Mexico inside the 25 yard line, getting a shut-out against the Lobos.  Jeffcoat says the defense is “excited to play a different type of offense” after  stopping New Mexico’s triple option.

Marquise Goodwin was an offensive MVP for the New Mexico game, despite touching the ball only twice.  Mack Brown says his blocking was incredible.
