Fans across the Austin area are in the final countdown for the BCS National Championship game.

"It's going to be great," said fan Cynthia Farias. "I hope we win!"

Farias joins thousands of other fans in eagerly awaiting the kickoff of showdown between Texas and Alabama Thursday night. Many people in the Austin area wore burnt orange to work Thursday, while others attached burnt orange flags to their cars to show their Longhorn pride.

Bailey Jackson, who works at Plucker's Wing Bar in North Austin, wore her Longhorn jersey to work.

"The minute I woke up this morning I threw it on," she said. 'I've been ready for this since I started at UT.  I've been so nervous for the past week I couldn't sleep two nights ago."

Her sister, Natalie Jackson, drove to Austin from Louisiana just to watch the game with her family. She says she watched Texas' last national championship game by herself in Denton.

"I promised myself I would never do that again," she said. "We're going to celebrate together this time."

Justin Williams, a shift manager at Plucker, says orders for game-time wings have been pouring in.

"It's going to be the busiest night we've had in probably four years, since the last Rose Bowl in which Texas played," he said. "It's really crazy. There's a big buzz going on for sure."
