Favre on target as Jets roll...Titans own first 4-0 start...Chiefs get first win in 11 months

UNDATED (AP) -- Brett Favre's (fahrvz) sore ankle didn't stop the New York Jets quarterback from setting a career high for touchdown passes in a game this afternoon.

Favre also matched Joe Namath's team record by throwing for six TD's in the Jets' 56-35 rout of the Arizona Cardinals. Laveranues (lah-VUR'-nee-uhs) Coles was Favre's favorite target, grabbing eight passes for 105 yards and three TDs as the Jets ended a two-game skid and improved to 2-and-2.

Coles made all three of his scoring grabs while the Jets were setting a team mark with a 34-point second quarter. The Cardinals cut the gap by scoring 21 points in the third quarter, including a pair of touchdown runs by Edgerrin James. But Favre put New York back in control by tossing a pair of scoring strikes to Jerricho Cotchery before hitting Dustin Keller for a TD with 1:54 remaining.

Kurt Warner attempted 57 passes in the loss, completing 40 for two touchdowns and three interceptions for the 2-and-2 Cardinals.

Arizona wide receiver Anquan Boldin was carted off the field after a scary helmet-to-helmet collision with Eric Smith with 27 seconds remaining.

Boldin was moving all his extremities on the field and was talking to his teammates coming off the field and going into the locker room. He was being taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons.

The Dallas Cowboys were beaten by their bitter rival. Jason Campbell threw for 231 yards and a couple of TD's as the Washington Redskins won their final regular-season game at Texas Stadium, beating the Cowboys 26-24. Shaun Suisham (SWEE'-shum) drilled four field goals after Campbell hit James Thrash and Antwaan Randle El for second-quarter touchdowns. Suisham put the Redskins ahead to stay with a 33-yard kick midway through the third quarter.

Dallas QB Tony Romo passed for 300 yards and three touchdowns, but the Cowboys managed just 44 rushing yards to fall to 3-and-1.

The 3-and-1 Redskins haven't lost since their season opener against the New York Giants.

The Tennessee Titans are off to the first 4-and-0 start in franchise history following another strong defensive performance in a 30-17 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Rookie Chris Johnson ran for two touchdowns, and the Titans turned the Vikings' four turnovers into 21 points. Johnson iced the victory with a six-yard scoring run after Nick Harper intercepted Gus Frerotte (fuh-RAHT') with 3:46 remaining.

Adrian Peterson carried 18 times for 80 yards and two touchdowns for the 1-and-3 Vikings, who lost despite outgaining the Titans 333 yards to 275.

Tennessee has allowed only 46 points during its perfect start.

Buffalo joined Tennessee as the only current 4-and-0 teams in the NFL. But the Bills needed to score 18 unanswered in the fourth quarter to pull out a 31-14 win at St. Louis.

Jabari Greer put the Bills ahead to stay by returning an interception 33 yards for a touchdown on the first play of the final period. Lee Evans grabbed a 39-yard scoring pass and a two-point conversion from Trent Edwards to put the Bills ahead by two touchdowns with 10:24 left.

Green threw for 236 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in his first start for the Rams. Steven Jackson ran for 110 yards and a touchdown, but the Rams still dropped to 0-and-4.

The Kansas City Chiefs pulled off a stunner while ending a team-record 12-game losing streak. The Chiefs were just 0-and-3 before Larry Johnson ran for 198 yards and two touchdowns in a 33-19 win over Denver, dropping the Broncos to 3-and-1. Johnson scored on a 16-yard run with 1:37 remaining to clinch the Chiefs' first victory since last October 21st.

Jay Cutler was intercepted twice while going 29-of-49 for 361 yards and a TD. Cutler failed to drive the Broncos into the end zone after throwing a 16-yard TD pass that put Denver ahead 7-6 midway through the second quarter.

LaDainian Tomlinson ran for two touchdowns while San Diego was outscoring the Raiders 25-3 in the fourth quarter of a 28-18 comeback win at Oakland.

The Raiders were up 15-3 until Antonio Gates and Tomlinson scored touchdowns in the first 2:13 of the final period. Sebastian Janikowski tied the game by hitting a 32-yard field goal with 2:27 left. But Nate Kaeding put the Chargers back on top with a 47-yard kick just 56 seconds later before Tomlinson clinched the victory with a 41-yard TD run.

JaMarcus Russell passed for 277 yards and a touchdown for the Raiders, who led 15-0 at halftime before falling to 1-and-3.

San Diego is 2-and-2.

Derrick Brooks had a hand in Tampa Bay's 30-21 win over the Green Bay Packers. Brooks had one of three interceptions off Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who completed only 14 of his 27 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Brooks also forced a fumble that Jermaine Phillips returned 38 yards for a touchdown that put the Buccaneers ahead 20-7 with six minutes left in the third quarter.

Rodgers thinks he may have separated his right shoulder while trying to scramble for a first down in the third quarter. The Packers don't expect to know how serious the injury is until tomorrow.

Carolina is 3-and-1 after Jake Delhomme (deh-LOHM') threw for 294 yards and two touchdowns in the Panthers' 24-9 victory over Atlanta. Muhsin (MYOO'-sihn) Muhammad and Steve Smith combined for 14 receptions, 243 yards and two touchdowns while the Panthers held NFL rushing leader Michael Turner to just 56 yards and 18 carries. Muhammad clinched the victory by grabbing a 36-yard scoring pass in the final period. Smith scored on a 56-yard reception before giving the ball to teammate Ken Lucas, nearly two months after Smith broke Lucas' nose with a sucker punch in training camp.

Rookie Matt Ryan had 158 passing yards for the 2-and-2 Falcons.

Josh Scobee hit a game-winning field goal for the second straight week, a 37-yard boot that lifted Jacksonville past Houston 30-27 in overtime. David Garrard engineered the final scoring drive, completing passes of 24 and 22 yards before Scobee allowed the Jaguars to even their record at 2-and-2. Garrard also scored the game-tying touchdown with 1:48 left in regulation and finished 23-of-32 for 236 yards and one TD.

The Texans fell to 0-and-4 despite Matt Schaub, who threw for 307 yards and three touchdowns.

Drew Brees (breez) had a big game while New Orleans was improving to 2-and-2. Brees passed for 363 yards and three second-quarter touchdowns in a 31-17 win over San Francisco. Brees hit Lance Moore for back-to-back touchdowns before Robert Meachem grabbed a 47-yard scoring strike that put the Saints ahead 21-6 in the final minute of the first half.

Deuce McAllister ran for 73 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown while helping New Orleans amass 467 total yards.

J.T. O'Sullivan threw for 257 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for the 2-and-2 49ers.

Derek Anderson threw a go-ahead touchdown pass to Braylon Edwards in the fourth quarter as Cleveland beat Cincinnati 20-12. With his starting job in jeopardy, Anderson was 15-of-24 for 138 yards and an interception as he helped the Browns improve to 1-and-3.

Bengals quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was intercepted three times while Carson Palmer sat out with a sore elbow. Fitzpatrick had a team-high 41 rushing yards for the 0-and-4 Bengals.

The Chicago Bears host the Philadelphia Eagles in the lone night game.

Monday night's action has the Pittsburgh Steelers entertaining the Baltimore Ravens.
