Turgeon to take A&M job Tuesday
10:16 PM CDT on Monday, April 9, 2007
A press conference is scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday to announce Mark Turgeon as the next head coach of the men's basketball program at Texas A&M.
Turgeon, who visited College Station Monday, was scheduled to return to Wichita and meet with his players before an announcement was made, the sources said. The Wichita Eagle reported on its Web site that the team was slated to gather at 10 p.m.
Turgeon took a chartered flight from Wichita to College Station Monday morning and was picked up at the airport by athletic director Bill Byrne, who gave him and his wife a tour of the basketball facilities.
