Bowen to Sit on Friday
04:09 PM CDT on Friday, March 14, 2008
NEW YORK (AP) -- The NBA today suspended San Antonio's Bruce Bowen for one game -- for kicking Chris Paul during a loss to New Orleans.
The move ends Bowen's consecutive games streak at 500.
Bowen began his streak -- the longest in the NBA -- on February 28th, 2002.
He's started every game since, but will miss tonight's game at Detroit.
The altercation happened Wednesday after Paul was called for a foul with 5:15 left in the third quarter of San Antonio's 100-75 loss to the Hornets.
Besides his streak, Bowen will lose about $373,000.
