Scenes from the 2013 U.S. Grand Prix

AUSTIN -- Red Bull Formula One driver Sebastian Vettel of Germany won the 2013 U.S. Grand Prix on Sunday.

Vettel's win on Sunday was his 12th win of the season and his eighth consecutive win, making him the first driver to win eight consecutive races in one season. Ferrari driver and Formula One legend Alberto Ascari won nine consecutive races over two seasons in the 1950s.

The four-time world champion celebrated his win by spinning his car and doing donuts after the race.

After the race, Vettel told his teammates, We have to remember these days. I love you guys. We have an incredible team spirit. I'm so proud of you. I love you.

Vettel will compete for his ninth consecutive win in Brazil onSunday, Nov. 24.

The 26-year-old Vettel made his Formula One debut at 19 in the 2007 U.S. Grand Prix in Indianapolis and now has an American title that escaped him last year. Vettel led the 2012 race in Austin most of the way until Lewis Hamilton passed him with 14 laps to go and went on to win. Vettel had called that a frustrating result and ruthlessly dominated the field this time.

Coming in behind Vettel were Lotus driver RomainGrosjean, Red Bull driver Mark Webber, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso
