To say it was a down year in NCAA Division I college baseball in the Lone Star State is an understatement. Texas is usually a rich college baseball state.

Of the 16-regional host sites, not one will be played in Texas.

The Atlantic Coast Conference will have 5-sites (VA Tech, North Carolina, Virginia, N.C. State, & Florida State), the Southeastern Conference will have 4-sites (LSU, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, & Mississippi State). Kansas State is the lone Big 12 Conference school which will host a regional.

Indiana, Oregon State, Oregon, Cal-State Fullerton, UCLA, and Louisville are the other sites.
