SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Tim Duncan didn't re-sign for three more years just to start over. In fact, the San Antonio Spurs are back with nearly the entire roster that dominated the NBA for most of last season.

But the NBA's winningest team the past two seasons knows something has to change. Otherwise. the Spurs risk staying stuck as a perennial contender that's been beyond the reach of another championship for five seasons and counting.

San Antonio rolled into the playoffs last year on a 20-game winning streak. But after taking a 2-0 lead over Oklahoma City in the Western Conference finals, the Spurs unraveled in spectacular fashion and lost the next four.

The rematch is Nov. 1 in San Antonio's home opener.
