AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Kaitlin Walla scored 17 points and top-ranked Georgetown held Northside Brennan scoreless in the third quarter, cruising to a methodical 44-30 win Thursday night in the Class 4A state semifinals.
After a sluggish first half sent the teams into the lockerroom tied at 13, Georgetown put the game away by scoring 18 in the third quarter. Walla opened the quarter with a basket and Haley Frias made a 3-pointer to spark the big run.
Northside Brennan finally broke its scoring drought when Ashlynn Graham made 1 of 2 free throws early in the fourth, Brennan's first points since the 4:32 mark in the second quarter.
Lorrie Santoy scored 11 points for Georgetown (33-4).
