IRVING, Texas -- The pairings for the 2013 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship have been set, conference officials announced Tuesday evening. Texas (12-17, 5-13 Big 12) is the No. 9 seed in the tournament and will face No. 8-seed Kansas State (14-16, 5-13 Big 12) in the first round on Friday, March 8 at 6 p.m. Central.
Should Texas win its opening-round game, it would advance to play No. 1-seed Baylor (29-1, 18-0 Big 12) in the quarterfinal round on Saturday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m. Semifinal play is scheduled for Sunday, March 10, while the championship game is slated for Monday, March 11 at 7 p.m.
Other seeds include No. 2 Iowa State, No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 4 Texas Tech, No. 5 Oklahoma State, No. 6 West Virginia, No. 7 Kansas and No. 10 TCU.
The Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship returns to Dallas for the fourth time, but makes its first appearance in the American Airlines Center – home of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and the NHL’s Dallas Stars.
Single-session tickets are on sale for $20 and $17 plus fees, for reserved seats. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster by calling 1-800-745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. They can also be purchased at the American Airlines Center box office. The box office accepts Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express and cash as methods of payment.
