AUSTIN -- The Big 12 Conference released its 2014 football schedule as approved by the league’s Directors of Athletics on Tuesday.
The conference schedule for Texas opens on Sept. 27 with a road game at Kansas, followed by a home contest vs. Baylor on Oct. 4 and the AT&T Red River Rivalry game against Oklahoma in Dallas on Oct. 11. The Longhorns will play host to Iowa State on Oct. 18, and then hit the road two straight weeks with games at K-State on Oct. 25 and Texas Tech on Nov. 1. Texas plays two of its last three at home, with West Virginia visiting on Nov. 8 and TCU coming to town Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, Nov. 27. The Longhorns’ final road game of the season comes Nov. 15 at Oklahoma State.
Texas opens the 2014 season with three nonconference games all in the state of Texas. The Longhorns play host to North Texas in the season-opener on Aug. 30, and then take on BYU at home a week later. The final nonconference regular season game is vs. UCLA at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Sept. 13. Texas has an open date on Sept. 20, the week before the start of league play.
