ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Running back David Mora rushed for 258 yards and five touchdowns as Mason outgunned Stamford 62-40 to win the Class A Division I state football title.

A crowd of 10,143 at Cowboys Stadium watched Thursday as Mora, the game's Offensive Most Valuable Player, and the 15-0 Punchers stampeded for 438 yards rushing to take the school's first state championship.

The performance denied the Bulldogs their fifth title and first since 1959.

Quarterback Hagen Hutchinson had 469 yards of total offense for Stamford, including 351 yards passing and four touchdowns. However, the 13-3 Bulldogs were victimized by four turnovers, including three in the fourth quarter. Jessie Ramos had 10 catches for 214 yards and two touchdowns for Stamford.
