ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- LSU defensive end Sam Montgomery says he's speaking on behalf of all SEC teams.

After the fourth-ranked Tigers' 40-27 season-opening win over No. 3 Oregon, Montgomery said he thinks the SEC unquestionably runs the NCAA.

For now, it's hard to dispute that.

The SEC has won the last five national championships, including the Tigers' last title in 2007.

Oregon, which lost to Auburn in last season's championship game, has to recover in a hurry to even remain in the conversation for this year's title. The Ducks go home to play Nevada, which was 13-1 last season.

Next for LSU is its home opener against Northwestern State on Saturday, five days before the Tigers play their SEC opener at No. 20 Mississippi State.
