Cedar Park's Cole Quintanilla inspring team while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery

The Cedar Park pitcher has inspired his team during the Timberwolves deep run into the playoffs.

It's been such a fun season for the Cedar Park Timberwolves baseball team. So much so, the Timberwolves made a wager with their head coach before their area round series vs Temple.
"if we win you should shave everything but the moustache", said CP head coach, Kris Gawriluk.

The T-Wolves advanced to a regional quarterfinal series against Tomball. As of Monday, Gawriluk hasn't shaved off the beard portion, but plans on it prior to game one vs Tomball.

It was uncertain if Cedar Park could experience this type of season when they lost a pair of key seniors to injuries, Hayden Craig and Cole Quintanilla.

Cedar Park infielder, Mak Sexton said, "we understand how painful it is to not be able to be out here with your brothers and not playing the game your love. That definitely motivates us".

Quintanilla, a Texas Longhorns baseball  signee, experienced the most feared injury a pitcher can experience at the beginning of the school year. "I decided to hop onto the mound, after a while my elbow started hurting", said Quitanilla.

The Cedar Park senior ace pitcher needed total reconstruction of his Ulnar Collateral Ligament, better known as  Tommy John surgery.

Throughout the season, Quintanilla has responded in the most positive manner. In between rehabilitation sessions, he has helped his fellow Cedar Park pitchers at practice and has been his teammate's #1 fan in the dugout during each game.

I asked Quintanilla how's he's handled his new role this season, limited to supporting his teammates.
He said,  "It's a tough question to answer. I just try to focus on the good"

The scars on his throwing elbow are a daily reminder for this tall pitcher who posted a .65 earned run average his junior season

Throughout it all and this challenging transition, Cole stays true to his team and he'll be throwing again this summer.
