Things look really, really good for the Longhorns right now.  Better than Florida. Better than Alabama.  A lot better than TCU.  And head and shoulders better than Oklahoma.

(Sorry, can't pass up a chance to take an easy swing!)

But, I'm afraid the coast is not clear.

Kansas is in complete disarray.  You'd think the players might have something extra to play for (like A&M a couple of years ago), but you get the idea they want Mangino gone, so I don't think KU poses a threat.

But A&M is a different story.

And the Big-12 Championship is a much different story.

I think the Aggies and Nebraska (if the Huskers win the North) could be challenges.  Especially the Black Shirts.

A&M is having a weird year.  But they like Sherman, the game's at home in College Station, and it could be a little chilly.  Three factors that could add up to a close game.

Remember how close the '05 game was for a while?  Remember the '99 and '07 upsets?  This A&M team is young and impressionable.  They fall behind (hello last week's Oklahoma game) and they'll fall apart.  They get up and they'll be full of confidence.

But what scares me is Nebraska.  The Black Shirt defense is looking good.  A turnover here, a big play there, and the Huskers have a chance.

Pasadena is in sight, but there may only be one cakewalk left on the schedule.
