Remember how excited Longhorn fans were in 1990 when the BMW machine made it that far... and then got all the way to the Elite 8?
This is a great time for teams. St Mary's, Butler, Cornell... congrats to all of them. It's nice to see so many "new" schools this year. The usual names, like North Carolina, Kansas, Arizona... some didn't even make the Big Dance. And getting new life in the Sweet 16 can only help the excitement.
I only wish every team would be as fun-loving as St Mary's.
Yes, that's who the Bears are playing on Friday. But did you hear any of Omar Samhan at the Thursday press conference? He wasn't stiff and unexcited and barely whispering Xs and Os jargon. Nope. When asked about his Twitter account and his Ipod, he confessed his love for Taylor Swift!

You think you'd hear any of the Longhorns say that, if they had made it this far? I don't think so.
Maybe it's a little silly... but it's fun. And that's what the Sweet 16 is all about.
