AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- After firing his defensive coordinator two games into the season, Texas coach Mack Brown says he's not panicking. He's trying to fix a problem.
Brown also insists the Longhorns' 40-21 loss to BYU didn't raise the pressure on his own job. Texas gave up a school-record 550 yards rushing and dropped out of the Top25 with the loss.
Texas is 23-18 since 2009, but Brown had talked openly in the preseason that this year's experienced team could lead the Longhorns back to national prominence.
The Longhorns left Provo after being embarrassed by BYU, leaving Brown scrambling to fix his defense. Manny Diaz was reassigned and the coordinators job was given to Greg Robinson, a former Longhorns and Michigan assistant who had also had a stint as head coach at Syracuse.
