The Texas Longhorns defense is currently ranked 120th in the country. That's obviously far from the desired goal and a ranking the Longhorns aren't proud of.

However, Texas did make some significant improvement defensive vs Kansas State last Saturday. The Horns suspect rush defense limited the Wildcats to just 115 yards rushing. That was well below UT's rush defense average of 260 yards rushing allowed per game.

The Longhorns believe this week's off week arrived an ideal time. It allows UT more time to continue developing this defense into one which allows for more success.
