La Grange, Texas native Buster Miller has been driving cars at a high rate of speed for most of his life. He once drove his new Chevy in 1956 from Midland to Austin in four hours. Driving over the speed limit was required.
Miller actually got his start in racing while serving in our nation's military in 1948 on a dirt track in California.
He put his love for racing on hold while he and wife Mary raised their four children.
His passion for taking the checkered flag has never ended, and next weekend he hopes to place his name into the Guinness Book of World Records at the Texas Motor Speedway north of Fort Worth.
