LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In a Saturday night meeting with Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich, Charlie Strong said he will be leaving the school and going to the University of Texas.

This follows a wild day of ups and downs for Louisville fans.  Strong, in a brief Saturday morning meeting, told his coaching staff no decision had been made about him leaving for the Texas coaching job, but that changed several hours later.

Tom Jurich, who was vacationing with his family in Colorado, got back to town late Saturday and immediately met with Strong, according to sources.

The USA Today reported early Saturday evening that an official announcement will be made by the University of Texas Sunday and a news conference could come Monday.

The University of Texas, who is looking for a head coach for the first time since 1998, is considered one of the top coaching jobs in the nation.  Mack Brown, who had coached the team since 1998, resigned in December.
