DeSoto freshman shines in A&M scrimmage

12:03 AM CDT on Wednesday, August 13, 2008

COLLEGE STATION – If there was an offensive standout in Tuesday's scrimmage, it was Cyrus Gray, a freshman running back from DeSoto. Gray broke three runs of at least 20 yards, added a lengthy kickoff return and hauled in a 70-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Tannehill.

Sherman said he was disappointed in the pass protection from his offensive line, facing multiple looks and blitzes from the defense. "I thought we were a little sloppy there," Sherman said. "We've been better in practice than we were today."
