AUSTIN – The John Chiles experiment went into Day 3, with Chiles occasionally lining up at receiver with Colt McCoy while continuing as Texas' backup quarterback.

The Longhorns say they still consider Chiles a quarterback, one of the reasons he agreed to the hybrid positioning when coach Mack Brown approached him this summer.

"I feel most at home at quarterback," said Chiles, who starred at Mansfield Summit. "I'm a leader. I like to be in charge of the team."
