ALEX'S LEMONADE STAND When life threw her lemons, 4-year-old Alexandra "Alex" Scott made lemonade. Diagnosed with cancer before her first birthday, Alex set up her first lemonade stand in 2000 as a way to help doctors find a cure for pediatric cancer. She lived and battled for four more years, and died in 2004 at age 8, but not before helping to raise more than $1 million to fund childhood cancer research. Alex's determination has inspired thousands of Alex's Lemonade Stands nationwide. This weekend, head to Irving to support the Alex's Lemonade Stand fundraiser presented by the Hilton Garden Inn Las Colinas. The local event will include free lemonade and free pizza, a silent auction and free children's activities. Autographs by former and current Dallas Cowboys players will be available with donations. Proceeds benefit Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.
