
With Lake Travis water levels at some of the lowest on record, some groups have asked the city to increase spending to conserve water. They say the current drought should be a warning to start conserving now to preserve the lake’s future.

Some Austin residents have found the triple-digit temperatures more uncomfortable thanks to a spike in their electric bills. "It was a hundred dollar jump just for June and I'm expecting $150 to $200 higher this month," said a North Austin resident.

It's located in the city's wastewater treatment plant on East Pecan Street and will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

In a hundred years, a new Texas A&M study predicts the sea could rise 1.5 meters. If that happens, the only part of Galveston that could remain above water is the area built up around the sea wall.
