What is it? a universal car phone mount

What does it claim? to let you talk and drive safely

Who tested it?  Virginia Beach resident Amy Eaton

What Are The Instructions?  The first thing you need to do is find a safe location on the interior of your vehicle's windshield or dashboard to mount the pedestal.  Make sure the area is clean and dry then firmly put the suction cup base on the pedestal mount disc and lock it in place.  Adjust the angle of the attached arm to where you need it and place your phone.  It's important to note if you are putting it on your windshield, you do not need the pedestal mount disc.  That's only for dashboard mounting.

Once the pedestal is in place, you're ready to add your electronic device. You do that by firmly pressing your device into the GripGo pad.  It will be very sticky at first.  If it's too sticky, you can simply touch the GripGo gel pad to your shirt or pants until the desired stickiness is reached.  Be sure to check the pad for cleanliness and stickiness before each use.

Your electronic device won't stick properly if it's not cleaned suitably.  Make sure to wipe dirt and dust from your mobile device before attaching it to the GripGo pad.

It's not recommended that you attach your mobile device to the GripGo pad if it is in a leather or silicone case because GripGo will not stick to leather or silicone.  But you can just take it out of the case and it will work just fine.

You can also adjust the angle of the cradle to find the optimal hands-free viewing position for you.

To clean the GripGo pad, all you need to is use warm water and mild soap.  Then just let it air dry and it will go back to being sticky.

It's important to note that it's recommended that you take GripGo out of your car during cold weather.  If it's left in the cold for a prolonged period of time, the GripGo Pad may lose its stickiness.

Did it work? Eaton was very impressed.  She says this product will likely change the way she drives.  She says she thinks GripGo affords her the opportunity to really pay attention to what she's doing.  She'd look down at her phone or her iTouch and take her eyes off the road. With GripGo. Eaton feels like she can keep her eyes on the road and use her electronic devices more safely.

Cost/Availability? You can purchase GripGo at Bed Bath & Beyond for $10.99.

Additional Comments: Do not install GripGo over an airbag cover or within the airbag deployment zone.  You should also check local laws before installing it on your windshield.
