What is it? a plastic container and cutting device that helps make using plastic wrap or aluminum foil easier
What does it claim? that you can wrap food in a flash when you just pull, press and wrap
Who tested it? Chesapeake resident Marie Smith
What Are The Instructions? The first thing you need to do is insert the roll of whatever wrap you are planning to use into the Wraptastic. To do that, you have to remove the roll from its original packaging. Then insert the spring loaded caps into each end of the paper tube by squeezing tabs and gently twisting. Next, place the roll into Wraptastic cutting device with the wrap coming over the top. Now you're ready to use Wraptastic.
Open up the lid to grasp the edges of your wrap. Then pull the wrap to your desired length. Next all you have to do is close the lid to cut the wrap by pressing firmly on both sides. The concealed blade in your Wraptastic is sharp. So be sure to avoid contact with it and children should not use Wraptastic without adult supervision. Wraptastic holds most standard rolls up to 200 feet.
Did it work? Smith was very impressed at first. She found using Wraptastic a lot easier than than trying to rip the plastic wrap from its original box. After using it a few times, she started becoming less impressed. While she did find that it was easier to rip the plastic wrap with Wraptastic she also found it to be a little bit more cumbersome. Part of the problem was the non-slip rubber feet on the bottom of the Wraptastic did not seem to work so it kept sliding around when she tried to rip the plastic wrap off. So after giving it several tries our tester decided Wraptastic was not for her.
Cost/Availability? You can purchase Wraptastic for $10.88 at Walmart.
Additional Comments: Wraptastic can be used with plastic wrap, aluminum foil and wax paper. It is also dishwasher safe on the top shelf.
