I'm finally home! I wanted to shout it from the roof tops when I moved to Austin to work for KVUE. I first visited the city in high school and my heart never left. I remember crying to my mom, begging her to move us. I've convinced friends to move here and now my mom wants to come too!
My real hometown is just south of Houston called Angleton, but I've got history here in Central Texas. I'm a bobcat! I was part of the first class to graduate under the new name of Texas State University in San Marcos. (It's still Southwest Texas in my book, though.)
I joined the KVUE News team in April of 2008. I typically cover the Travis County crime beat. I came from Fox 23 News in Tulsa, Oklahoma where I was also the crime reporter. Before that I worked at KTEN News in Denison, north of Dallas.
I really love covering crime because I feel like I help keep viewers safe. I'm a graduate of the Austin Citizen Police Academy, the Denison Citizen Police Academy and the Sapulpa, OK Citizen Police Academy.
Other than loading up on police work, I enjoy trying new Austin eateries and spending time with my husband and our two shih tzus, Rozy and Daisy.
