I came to KVUE on Dec. 17, 1995 from Dallas where I was working on the assignments desk at KTVT-Channell 11. I came to Austin to get more experience as a reporter. For the first two years, I worked as a crime reporter. I then moved to general assignments, which was much less stressful.
I went to the University of North Texas in Denton. It was a wonderful experience. I was everything from D.J. at the campus station to the school mascot (EPPY, the mean green eagle.)
But Austin has been the absolute best place I've ever lived. I've made some wonderful friends here. I've also had lots of fun here, whether it's fishing on the Pedernales, playing shuffleboard at Lavaca Street Bar, or hitting the tennis ball at Caswell Tennis Center.
I can't think of a better place to get life and professional experience than Austin, Texas.
