PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Police in northwestern Pakistan say bombs went off a two mosques today, just as worshippers started Friday prayers.
At least 13 people were killed and 45 wounded in the attacks, which happened at Sunni mosques in the same village. Both of the mosques were badly damaged, and the roof of one of them collapsed.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but suspicion will likely fall on the Pakistani Taliban. The Sunni militant group has been waging a bloody insurgency against the government for years.
