To make it easier, they have begun opening walk-in and drive-thru flu shot clinic around town.

The first clinic is open at the Givens Rec Center, located at 3811 East 12th Street from 7:30am to 1:00pm. The shots are free, but a $10 donation is suggested. For a list of other clinics and the dates and times they will be open, click here for a link to the Health and Human Services Department.

Though anyone can come to one of the clinics to get a free flu shot, the following groups of people are more susceptible to getting the flu:

- Children between 6 months and 18 years old

- Adults 50 years of age and older

- People with chronic medical conditions

- Residents of long-term care facilities

- Pregnant women

Local pharmacies and family care physicians also have flu shots available.
