Best chance to watch shuttle tonight
03:17 PM CDT on Thursday, October 25, 2007
Thursday night is your best chance to see the Space Shuttle Discovery as it flies over Central Texas.
KVUE Chief Meteorologist Mark Murray says because the shuttle has docked with the International Space Station, it will appear especially bright as it passes over the Austin area.
Sky watchers will be able to see it at 7:06 p.m. in the northeastern sky, at 56 degrees above the horizon. That's about 15 to 20 minutes after sunset.
If you miss the sky show Thursday, the shuttle will also be visible Friday at 7:30 p.m. to the southwest at 26 degrees above the horizon and Saturday November 3 in the southeast at just 14 degrees above the horizon.
