Two Independence Day lake outings turned tragic in North Texas on Friday.

A 13-year-old girl was reported missing at the Lynn Creek Park swim beach at Joe Pool Lake around 8 p.m.

Grand Prairie police and fire rescue services began searching for Shannon Allcock, whose body was found 30 minutes later about 75 feet from shore.

Sgt. Chris Chopin of the Grand Prairie Police Department Lake Patrol said Shannon was pronounced dead a short time later at Medical Center of Arlington.

A three-year-old girl drowned earlier in the evening at Little Elm Park on Lewisville Lake.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as Natalie Escobar of Carrollton, who was pronounced dead at 7:16 p.m.
