Austin police Friday released surveillance photos in connection with their search for the gunman in a deadly East Austin shooting.
Paul Dominguez was shot several times at the Elm Ridge Apartments on Harvey Street just south of 12th Street early Thursday morning. Witnesses told police they saw a group of men running away.
Friday, police released photos of their suspect and two other men spotted at a convenience store near the shooting. Detectives say James Ancira -- pictured wearing a gray shirt and checkered shorts -- is considered armed and dangerous and is wanted on a 1st degree murder warrant.
Bond was set at $1 million.
"It's very possible he's on the run," said Sgt. Joseph Chacon, APD homicide. "We're using the methods that we normally do to locate him; however, I think one of the best things we can do is get phone calls from people to let us know where he's at."
Investigators say Ancira has family in Austin and Lockhart. It was unclear what relationship Ancira had with the victim.
They are also asking for the public's help in identifying the two other men with Ancira in the photo -- a man in a red shirt, and a man in a white over blue shirt with baseball cap.
