There is no "one size fits all" approach to weight loss. Everybody burns calories at their own rate.

But what if you could find out exactly what your body burns?

Now you may be able to do that with something called the "Bodybugg."

Jessica Hendrick is losing weight the old-fashioned way -- through diet and exercise.  She's lost five pounds in three weeks.

"And it feels like real weight loss -- not just water weight," said Hendrick.

Hendrick has slimmed down by counting calories, but the way she's counting is new technology.

The Bodybugg -- strapped onto her arm -- uses four sensors to measure skin temperature, air temperature, motion and perspiration. With it, Hendrick can see her progress anytime.

With the push of a button her "bugg" syncs up to an online profile and she can get a minute by minute breakdown of the number of calories her body has burned.

Elizabeth Sherman, personal trainer, sells the Bodybugg and says it's the only way out there to know exactly how many calories a person burns in a 24-hour period.

Twelve of her clients are using the Bodybugg.  She says the device has de-bugged the guesswork of weight loss while showing the importance of staying active all day long.

"It's much better for your metabolism if you're not putting everything into that workout, and you're active throughout the day. We see it right there with Jessica's data," Sherman said.
