It was not the start of the work week anyone in the Falcon Pointe subdivision was expecting. Monday morning, police had the neighborhood surrounded.

As police searched for clues and tracks throughout the Falcon Pointe subdivision, Scott Marshall's search was over. His white Ford Expedition was found. It's been missing since April 11.

"I walked out to my driveway -- this car is a behemoth, eight-passenger car -- so I’m like, there use to be a car here,” said Marshall.

Pflugerville police found it parked in front of a Hanging Rock drive home. They had been asked earlier in the morning to help search for the SUV after it was spotted by Travis County deputies and then lost. It is not known whether the men in the SUV were trying to ditch the vehicle in the subdivision or whether they had stopped at the house to break into it. Regardless, Pflugerville police found them just as the three men were getting out of the SUV.

“As the officer approached them, one of them fired a single shot,” said Assistant Police Chief Jim McLean.

The officer was not hit. The men ran through the backyard, over a fence and into a greenbelt behind Scott Wilkins' house.

“So at 4:00, my wife wakes me up and says there are helicopters in the neighborhood -- or at least one -- police cars up and down the road. It was like daylight out here,” said Wilkins.

The neighborhood search continued through the morning as the stolen Expedition was processed by crime scene technicians. They took pictures, looked for fingerprints and anything that was left behind that can be used to track the three men. Investigators believe the thieves have been using the stolen SUV as their primary means of transportation. It is hoped, that someone may recognize the vehicle and the three people who were in it.

Marshall is just thankful to have it back in one piece.

“They are pretty brazen to be running around in a stolen vehicle and stealing other vehicles with that,” said Marshall.

Police are looking for two Hispanic men, both last seen wearing white T-shirts and blue jeans. A third Hispanic male was last seen wearing a red sweat shirt and blue jeans. If you saw them, have any information about the car theft or information about any other break-ins in this area, contact the Pflugerville Police Department
