According to the Austin-American Statesman, the city of Bastrop is now courting Villa Muse.

The report says the Bastrop officials have offered tax breaks and grants to bring the film-based development to town.  But Bastrop is trying to keep details of their offer secret, saying it would tip their hand to other cities competing for Villa Muse.

The project was originally planned for eastern Travis County.  But Austin city officials denied developers demands to be released from the city’s jurisdiction.
