KVUE News

Update:

LCRA tells KVUE News that the situation has been addressed, and is less critical than before.

The most important thing for customers to do is to turn off irrigation systems Tuesday.

Press release from LCRA:

LCRA CONTINUES TO URGE RESIDENTS OF WEST TRAVIS SYSTEM

TO CUT BACK WATER USE IMMEDIATELY

AUSTIN - The Lower Colorado River Authority continues to urge customers of the West Travis County Regional Water System (in western Travis County and northern Hays County) to immediately cut back water use due to an equipment problem.

LCRA crews continue to work on repairs to an underground electrical cable that was inadvertently cut around noon on Monday.

Customers should immediately cut back all non-essential water use and turn off irrigation systems so that the limited amount of water in storage can meet customers basic needs.

The affected area includes residents in Bee Cave and other communities along Texas 71 and RR 620; and Dripping Springs, along with developments on US 290.

For more information, area residents may visit the Web site at www.lcra.org or call LCRA customer service at (512) 397-6766.
