Students compete in robot competition

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Local students traveled to San Antonio to put their engineering skills to the test Friday.

The Vex Robotics Competition is a chance for middle and high school students to show off their math, science and engineering talents.

Students from Austin Middle School, Garza High School, Mccallum High School, Hill Country Austin 4-H and Cedar Park High School competed Friday.

The winners go on to state, nationals, and finally to an international tournament.

The winners will be announced at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The competition is put on by the U.S. Army All-American Bowl that also sponsors an all-star high school football game.
