Feds jail man for being a child pimp
11:08 PM CDT on Friday, October 12, 2007
Back in 2001, Jermaine Carlos Diaz faced Judge Kenneth Hoyt in the United States Federal Courthouse and was convicted of transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of prostitution.
He apparently didn't learn his lesson behind bars, because he is accused of putting young girls out on the streets again.
He was arrested Thursday night in Sugar Land.

The FBI says, the first time around. prosecutors were able to prove Diaz brought three underage girls to Houston from his hometown of Fort Smith, Ark. He would travel back and forth. That, said the FBI, makes Diaz a pimp.
Believe it or not, child prostitution is a significant problem in Houston. The local offices of the FBI and the Houston Police Department have been working together for several years to prosecute men like 30-year-old George Anderson III. In May, he was sentenced to 262 months in the federal pen for running a child prostitution ring.
FBI Special Agent Vanessa Walther says two girls, ages 14-and 15-years-old, testified against Anderson.
“These guys prey on girls with low self esteem,” said Walther. “They look for what makes that girl tick. Maybe she comes from a poor background and needs money or she is just looking for a boyfriend who loves her and she doesn’t feel pretty.”
