The plane went down at around 7 a.m. Friday.
The plane went down in a grassy field off Bissonnet and the Southwest Freeway early Wednesday morning.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, the plane was engulfed in flames.
Emergency crews used fire extinguishers to put out the blaze. It was extinguished about 30 minutes later.
Reports from the scene indicate that the pilot was the only person on the plane. He reportedly walked away with minor injuries.
One witness reported seeing the plane fly sideways over the freeway before it hit the ground.
Commuters told 11 News that smoke could be seen for miles and that was causing traffic to build on 59.
It is not known exactly what caused the crash.
