Police found the wife screaming and injured in the front yard08:11 AM CDT on Thursday, July 31, 2008
PASADENA, Texas -- A Pasadena homeowner and his wife were beaten during an overnight home invasion Thursday.
It happened at a home at Dunwick and Perez.
Two children were found hiding in the closet of the home following the invasion.
Investigators said both girls were not hurt and were with their family Thursday morning.
Crime scene investigators were at the home hours after the incident gathering evidence.
Officers reportedly came to the scene around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday after neighbors heard gunshots.
Once they arrived, they heard a woman screaming and found her severely beaten in the front yard of the home.
She told police her husband was inside.
He was also badly beaten.
Both were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover.
They told police two men were responsible for the attack.
Officers recovered a shotgun from the front yard.
Police said a grey car seen leaving the home around the time of the incident was tracked to a nearby apartment complex.
They were also looking into whether a gunshot victim is connected to the incident.
That victim showed up at a hospital shortly after the invasion with a gunshot wound to his foot.
