Katy girl missing since April found in Kansas

08:13 AM CDT on Wednesday, July 23, 2008

KHOU.com staff report

KATY, Texas -- A Katy teen who has been missing for three months after reportedly running off with a man she met on MySpace.com, was found in Kansas on Tuesday, police said.

Harris County Sheriff's Office

Ashley Brown

Ashley Brown had been missing since April 24. Harris County Sheriff's investigators have always suspected that she ran off to meet a 33-year-old man she met online.

The 15-year-old continued to use her MySpace, as recently as July 8. That allowed investigators to track her down via the Internet Protocol address that was registered to a computer network in Lawrence Kansas, said Harris County Sheriff's investigators.

It wasn't until Tuesday though that police found Brown, who may have also been using the alias Arianna Maria Sanchez.

The unidentified man who Brown was with is expected to be charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.
