Inmate makes off with sheriff's truck

A Van Zandt County inmate commandeered a sheriff vehicle on Thursday while officers were using him to locate different burglary locations, according to reports.
The inmate, David Sprague, 29, who was dressed in black and white striped prison wear, climbed into the front of the vehicle when the officers stepped outside.
They were in Kaufman County at the time.
The vehicle is a white unmarked Ford pick-up - license plate number: 59F - WB8. It has four doors. Sprague was handcuffed.
There were weapons inside the truck.
Sprague of Mesquite is 5ft 6 inches and 145 lbs with a tattoo on his left arm.
He is considered armed and dangerous.
