DALLAS - Two officers and a third person were injured in a crash on northbound Interstate 35E south of Beckley Avenue in Dallas Tuesday.
The officers were both in the midst of training on their motorcycles when the wreck occurred. Both were transported to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injures, sources said.
The northbound lanes were completely shut down and two far left lanes on the southbound side were also closed.
Two motorcycles were turned on their side and two officers were transported from the scene by ground ambulance. A red vehicle facing the wrong direction on northbound I-35E was also spotted at the scene.
More than a dozen officers swarmed the freeway as emergency crews worked to get the injured carried onto the ambulances. One of the injured officers was standing at the scene; crews strapped a brace onto his neck and placed him on a stretcher to be transported to a nearby hospital.
A third person from the red vehicle was also transported to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.
It is still unclear how many vehicles were involved in the crash.
