SAN ANTONIO -- An 18-year-old UTSA student is $20,000 richer after winning an award from CoverGirl on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

"I'm definitely going to use it to support the SMILE Movement," said Alexis Harris. "And we're going to use the money to give back to different local organizations: Haven for Hope, different groups locally."

Harris won CoverGirl's model search on Thursday's "Ellen" that aired on KVUE. The announcement was made at a mock press conference on the show, as Harris sat visibly stunned in the audience. The gig was up when Ellen ushered out Harris' family to view her competition entry video.

Harris started a local non-profit to help the needy.

The search was sponsored by the cosmetics company and Ellen DeGeneres. CoverGirl and Ellen said Alexis has accomplished more than most adults, making her the perfect winner.
