SEALY, Texas -- Due to flood damage, classes have been cancelled for Selman Intermediate and Sealy Junior High students on Monday, district officials said Sunday.

Officials with Sealy ISD said students, grades fourth through eighth, will not have class on Monday and should not come to school.

Selman Elementary and Sealy High School will hold classes as scheduled on Monday, officials said.

Sealy ISD Superintendent Scott Kana said the water in the buildings was not caused by roof leakage or structural damage.

He said due to the excessive amount of rainfall in a short period of time, the water entered the buildings under the doors.

Parts of Travis County received 6 to 7 inches of rain this weekend.

There is a crew is on site to help with the clean-up. Classes will be held on all campuses on Tuesday.
