MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- An 8-month-old baby girl was found buried in clothes in the back of a trash-filled car Wednesday night and her mother was arrested for DWI, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The mother, 40-year-old Jessica Gutierrez of Kingwood, was seen driving erratically near Loop 494 and F.M. 1314 near Porter around 11 p.m. At one point, Gutierrez stopped her car in the middle of the road, before pulling into a Valero gas station, deputies said.

Gutierrez allegedly admitted to deputies she had consumed a beer, along with Prozac and Xanax, before getting behind the wheel.

During the questioning, deputies spotted the woman’s baby in the back seat of her car. They said the baby was buried under clothes and a skateboard. The rest of the vehicle was filled with trash.

The infant was looked over and said to be okay, deputies said.

Gutierrez failed a sobriety test and was transferred to jail where she was being held on a $25,000 bond. During the booking process, officials said she admitted to also smoking some sort of potpourri that she bought from a local business.

Her child was taken into CPS custody. Deputies said the mom also had a 12-year-old child at home who was being cared for by a new roommate.
