ALBERT, TEXAS -- After a year on the market, a Texas man snatched up quite a deal.

He bought the whole town of Albert, Texas.

The teeny town of Albert is just southeast of Fredericksburg.

The little-known town with a school that once taught President Lyndon B. Johnson became an overnight sensation when it went on the market.

It was a Realtor's dream. The story spread like wildfire across the globe.

"A man flew in from Poland to film a story," said Candy Cargill, an agent for Hill Country Real Estate.

As fate would have it, an ad caught the eye of a man from Austin. But he hadn't even seen the coverage.

"I had never heard of Albert," said Brandon Easley, the town's buyer. "I was driving out to Junction one day and saw a billboard," he added.

The population in Albert is only four people. We asked Easley if he managed to meet everybody. "I think so," he said with a grin.

After he visited Albert more than 15 times, Easley realized he couldn't live with out it. "It's the most emotional purchase I've ever made," he said. He plans on fixing up the new digs including a dance hall next to an ice house. "The possibilities are endless," he said.

And when asked if he minds being in the worldwide spotlight?

"I hadn't realized it made national news," said Easley. "But if it does again it would be great for everybody to come out and have a beer!"

When asked if he plans to run for mayor, Easley said with a smile, "I'm going to try."

What if he only gets two out of four votes? "I guess there would have to be a runoff or something like that," said Easley with a giggle.

Everyone wants to know, how much did it cost? Those details are not being released.
