It looks like Texas won't be getting a high-speed rail anytime soon.
The federal government is getting ready to hand out money to states willing to build a network of bullet trains.
The grants won't be announced until later this month, but word has already emerged from Washington that the chances of Texas getting that money are slim.
A federal official said there is not enough political support in Texas for a high-speed rail line.
