Report of gun spurs lockdown at North Texas school

ARLINGTON - Lamar High School was placed on lockdown after an Arlington Police School Resource officer received a report of a gun possibly on the campus.

Lamar High School was notified of a report of a student who possible brought a handgun to the campus at about 8:40 a.m., according to a statement released by Tiara Ellis Richard, Arlington Police Department.

Richard said they have found no evidence confirming the report. Police are on the scene investigating.

School officials have asked parents that want to go to the school to congregate in the north parking lot.
